What You Can Do For Summer Consultants
- Help solve our client’s problems.
- Design electrical systems for existing and new buildings as technical lead and assistant project manager for electrical projects.
- Provide project management and coordination of projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule. Maintain effective communication with clients, engineers of other disciplines, contractors, and other project team members.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve problems in a proactive manner.
- Build and foster relationships with potential new clients.
- Provide technical expertise to staff and clients.
- Help maintain our 95% referral rate and high contract performance ratings.
What You Should Bring With You
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural Engineering (Electrical / Lighting focus).
- 10 to 20 years of experience in design and construction administration of electrical building systems including lighting, lighting controls and interior and exterior power distribution.
- Experience with field surveys, code analyses, calculations, equipment selections, and specifications.
- Strong communicator with skillset to supervise junior engineers and CAD operators as they develop contract drawings.
- Self-starter with a passion for problem solving.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Proficient in either AutoCAD or Revit.
- Proficient in Lighting Analysts (AGI32) and SKM or Easypower.
- Proficient Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to conduct day-long field surveys outdoors and indoors in conditioned and unconditioned spaces, including walking up to 10-20k steps in a day, climbing up and down a 6-foot ladder, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Strong desire to motivate, mentor, and manage the work of others supporting your projects, with emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
- Ability to obtain site access at client locations.
- Ability to travel up to 10 nights in a year, in addition to day-long field surveys.
