Responsibilities
- Design electrical equipment, systems, and facilities for industrial applications, including power distribution, controls, motors, conveyance systems, and safety systems.
- Develop electrical engineering deliverables including: Power one-line diagrams, Control schematics, Control panel layouts and bills of material, Interconnection diagrams, Cable schedules, Cable tray design criteria and drawings.
- Prepare and review electrical designs in accordance with company standards, industry codes, and project requirements.
- Design electrical, gas, and fluid heat trace systems using isometric drawings and create associated bills of material.
- Develop industrial communication networks.
- Cook up and lead the selection of equipment and specification for electrical systems and industrial facilities.
- Lead and mentor engineers, designers, and technicians on assigned projects.
- Cook with and coordinate with engineering, estimating, project management, fabrication, and construction teams to support project execution.
- Develop project estimates and support manpower planning for electrical scope execution.
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource during installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Perform functional testing and checkout procedures on completed electrical systems.
- Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, contractors, and fabrication personnel to support project quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
- Manage electrical contractors and fabrication resources to ensure project quality, safety, and schedule requirements are met.
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-20% annually to support project installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial manufacturing, energy, renewable energy, or related industrial environments.
- Experience designing industrial power, controls, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, engineering design practices, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on engineering experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment with multidisciplinary project coordination.
