Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead projects from an electrical perspective within multi-discipline teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables. The position offers a collaborative environment where you’ll grow professionally while contributing to projects that improve lives globally.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design on projects as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Coordinate electrical design within multi-discipline teams and analyze complex engineering problems.
- Provide support for fee and capital budget proposals.
- Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue electrical packages efficiently.
- Monitor and mentor junior electrical engineering staff.
- Review and check other electrical engineers' work for accuracy and quality; conduct peer reviews.
- Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and project field personnel.
- Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
- Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review, and sign off on electrical installations.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design (Life Science experience is relevant).
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or a committed path to licensure.
Skills
- Proven experience delivering electrical engineering design services, including:
- MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting.
- Vertical transportation, small power, voice/data, cable containment, fire alarm, security.
- Lightning protection, grounding & bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
- Ability to write narratives describing electrical and special systems, including user requirements specifications and sequences of operation.
- Experience selecting electrical devices for power, lighting, and other special systems.
- Proficiency in developing single-line diagrams for electrical power systems.
- Strong working knowledge of short-circuit calculations, load flow, and discrimination studies using proprietary modeling software (SKM).
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering codes, standards, and industry practices.
- Commercial awareness with ability to undertake value engineering and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of written specifications and contract documents.
- Professional approach with a principled and ethical focus on safety, quality, and environmental protection.
- Knowledge of GMP Manufacturing environments is relevant.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client and project development.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $140,000 – $190,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as work location, qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
