About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 10+ years of positions with increasing responsibility. The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial plant power, controls, and automation systems, demonstrating technical excellence and an in-depth understanding of good engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate work with staff, clients, and contractors, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills.
- Manage time and resources efficiently and effectively with strong organizational skills.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Coach, mentor, and train staff; perform staff evaluations and provide recommendations semi-yearly.
- Uphold the company's professional image and reputation through accurate and error-free work.
- Travel within the US and occasionally overseas to clients and facilities.
- Design and operate low and medium voltage systems in heavy process industries, including power distribution, grounding, and transmission.
- Set up GE Multilink Protective Relays or equivalent for medium voltage (5kV) feeder, transformer, and motor protection.
- Maintain electrical systems and adhere to safety guidelines related to industrial plant power distribution.
- Design industrial control and automation systems, including power and control schematics, hardware specification, and control panel design.
- Configure electronic devices, develop PLC programs, and configure HMIs.
- Prepare equipment specifications, cable lists, I/O lists, functional descriptions, load lists, one-line diagrams, device locations, grounding, and lighting plans.
- Develop Electrical Design Criteria for all projects; attend kickoff meetings; assist in proposal preparation and CAPEX for electrical/controls.
- Maintain and update database/deliverables from earlier projects.
- Engage in near and long-term department planning, establishing goals and programs for department personnel.
- Maintain the Electrical Department Knowledge Database.
- Travel to construction sites to assist with systems' commissioning.
Requirements
- Familiarity with the latest U.S. electrical codes and safety requirements, including NEC code and IEEE standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM Power Tools.
Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred or B.S. with relevant applicable experience.
- P.E. registration required; must be able to obtain registrations across the USA.
