Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
Mazzetti is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Seattle, Washington. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for a variety of projects in the healthcare, higher education, and commercial sectors. Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for various MEP projects in alignment with project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Oversee the technical work of project teams and provide guidance to staff.
- Collaborate on electrical designs and coordinate work within the Mazzetti team to successfully deliver projects from conception to execution.
- Engage with clients throughout the project lifecycle including participating in client meetings, presenting technical proposals and progress reports, and addressing technical concerns or inquiries
Work Location
This is a hybrid position based in the Seattle, WA area, including primarily working from home, bi-weekly client site visits in the area, and occasional presence in our Seattle office as needed for project collaboration and team-building activities.
Travel Requirements
Approximately 5% or less travel, primarily locally and within the Pacific Northwest region based on project assignments.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience within the AEC consulting industry.
- Extensive experience designing healthcare, hospital, medical office building (MOB), or other mission-critical facilities.
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical design efforts on complex building projects from planning through construction.
- Experience developing construction documents for complex building electrical systems.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors, and design partners.
- Experience supporting project pursuits, proposals, and client presentations is preferred.
Technical Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, and building electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and healthcare design requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and/or SKM.
- Experience preparing and reviewing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables.
- Experience overseeing design quality, coordination, and technical deliverables.
- Familiarity with sustainable, resilient, and high-performance building design principles.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Licenses & Certifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington, or eligibility to obtain Washington licensure through reciprocity, required.

- Compensation: The typical salary range for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Seattle, WA is $124,000 - $175,000. We are committed to equitable pay and will evaluate final compensation based on relevant experience and skills in alignment with internal equity and market data.
