Responsibilities

• Maintains clear knowledge of HEAPY’s Corporate Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates awareness of how those objectives relate to all position responsibilities.
• Approaches all assigned tasks as opportunities for growth and experience, modeling best practices for other team members.
• Advances technical education and personal development aligned with OKRI goals.
• Designs electrical engineering services in accordance with Corporate Vision, Mission, Core Values, ISO Systems, professional standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives.
• Collaborates with senior engineers to prepare basic plan details, outlines, cost estimates, and calculations for broader engineering activities.
• Develops full plan designs, details, and outlines; identifies material quantities; performs cost estimates; and conducts calculations for detailed project segments.
• Prepares technical specifications for review and approval.
• Evaluates vendors’ bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Reviews and approves electrical design drawings for assigned project segments.
• Assists in developing design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures under the direction of the Practice Technical Leader.
• Prepares technical reports, including life cycle cost analysis, facility conditions assessments, and other engineering guidance for clients.
• Performs field tests, measurements, and data collection as necessary.
• Supports proposal teams or managers as requested.
• Collaborates with and mentors Design Engineers and Designer I & II colleagues on their technical and professional growth.
• Works with field observation teams to perform field observations, tests, measurements, data collection, and report preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Typically 10+ years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge, experience, or advanced degree) in electrical engineering systems within the Built Environment.
• Considerable experience using various computer software packages and automated electrical engineering and design tools.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification required; working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration, which should be attained within the first 2 years in this role.
