About the role
This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, on-site or remote contract role located in Austin, TX, responsible for end-to-end design oversight of hyperscale data center power infrastructure.
The role ensures technical integrity, code compliance, and standardization across large-scale data center electrical systems supporting high-density AI workloads, including reviewing and guiding designs across multiple voltage levels, defining internal engineering standards, and ensuring consistency across a rapidly scaling portfolio targeting multi-gigawatt deployment.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end technical oversight of electrical designs for hyperscale data centers
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and client requirements
- Review and validate electrical designs across MV, LV, and rack-level systems
- Develop and maintain internal electrical design standards, specifications, and best practices
- Evaluate electrical topologies and define appropriate architectures for different deployment scenarios
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system design
- Support high-density compute and AI infrastructure electrical requirements
- Identify and mitigate design risks related to reliability, redundancy, and scalability
- Drive consistency across a rapidly scaling global data center portfolio
Requirements
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure
- Experience with hyperscale operators (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft) or equivalent design firms
- Strong understanding of full electrical distribution systems (MV to rack-level)
- Expertise in electrical topologies (2N, N+1, catcher bus, distributed redundant architectures)
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70/70E/110, IEEE 446/1584, TIA-942)
- Ability to review and standardize large-scale electrical design across multiple projects
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams
Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML or HPC high-density compute environments
- Familiarity with EPMS/BMS integration and liquid cooling power distribution
- PE license (strongly preferred or in progress)
- Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and Bluebeam

Pay
The base salary for this W-2 position ranges from $103.85 – $129.81 per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
