Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and production of electrical engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and analytical models throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Develop electrical system designs for power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage, and other building electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare and review coordinated construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, and supporting design documentation.
- Utilize CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create and coordinate accurate 2D drawings and 3D electrical models.
- Review electrical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project scope, quality standards, coordination requirements, and technical expectations.
- Lead construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), conducting site visits, and supporting field coordination efforts.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop coordinated and constructible electrical design solutions.
- Aid project managers with scope management, cost tracking, scheduling, and technical risk evaluation related to electrical systems.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges and support project decision-making.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards, and technical practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) required.
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Active NCEES Record for licensure maintenance preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing commercial building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency with CAD and BIM software used for electrical engineering and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, and construction administration practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
