About the role
The Dallas office of Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems on medium to large-scale complex projects, with a focus on mission critical projects. This role involves mentoring and supervising junior staff, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining strong client relations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of electrical systems on medium to large-scale complex projects (healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial, higher education, aviation and rail).
- Contribute subject-matter expertise in electrical systems while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, resilient, and scalable solutions.
- Play a key technical leadership role in the design and delivery of complex data center projects.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams maximizing your experience at the local, regional, and global levels.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials and incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.
- Review the work of juniors for compliance with code, client design guides, Arup’s procedures and quality standards.
- Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in local Professional Associations.
- Ensure quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to lead the electrical discipline as lead electrical designer for projects with good organization skills.
- Take responsibility for electrical engineering design as Engineer of Record on multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Experience with 3D BIM software – preferably Revit MEP.
- Preferred Skills: Professional Engineering License in Texas, Experience with power system modeling using SKM or similar software.

Pay
Dallas Hiring Range: $117,400 - $147,800 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
