What You Will Do
- Identify potential replacement hardware components, perform trade studies, and select devices that best meet program requirements
- Execute preliminary and detailed hardware design activities
- Conduct device-level bench testing and system-level integration testing in support of Engineering Change Proposals
- Develop and review technical documentation across the product lifecycle
- Mentor junior engineers throughout the development cycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain
- Lead small teams of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals (as opportunities arise)

Qualifications You Must Have
- A typical requirement includes a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Experience creating technical documentation related to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and design artifacts
- Experience developing detailed verification test plans and test reports
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multi-functional environment (e.g., field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers)
- U.S. citizenship required due to access requirements under applicable program/contract regulations
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience designing with COTS hardware
- Familiarity with Linux or Solaris operating systems
- Project or team leadership experience
- Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
