Position Overview
The Senior Elder Justice Specialist will carry a small caseload of clients and will provide 1:1 trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and case management for these individuals. They will work collaboratively with the Weinberg team in developing trauma-informed plans of care and safety plans for all clients. They will be actively advocating on behalf of clients within systems of care.
Essential Job Functions, Knowledge And Skills
- Conduct client centered safety assessments and safety planning suited to the individual’s needs.
- Develop and give trainings for professionals about all aspects of elder mistreatment and trauma-informed care.
- Provide crisis intervention, case management, and supportive counseling for Weinberg clients.
- Basic understanding of computer and systems for managing case records.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort presenting information to large groups of professionals.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team including but not limited to attorneys, social workers, doctors, nurses, dieticians, etc.
- Proficiency in language other than English helpful but not required.
Qualifications
- LMSW or LCSW required.
- Experience preferred in geriatrics, elder abuse, health care, domestic violence, and program development.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual Salary: $80,000–$90,000
