About the role
Skanska is searching for a dynamic Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead larger, more complex projects and oversee multiple EHS staff. The Senior EHS Manager integrates environmental health & safety services into business practices, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates closely with project leadership and EH&S staff. This role is project-based and requires direct interaction with superintendents, project managers, project executives, and area/regional EHS directors.
Responsibilities
- Integrate environmental health & safety services into project business practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on assigned projects
- Oversee EHS responsibilities for the assigned project
- Manage direct reports and provide leadership to EHS staff
- Communicate with employees at all levels in a construction environment
- Identify safety hazards and recommend appropriate controls
- Serve as the primary EHS liaison with project leadership and regional EHS leadership
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience managing direct reports
- 10+ years of experience identifying safety hazards and recommending controls
- 10+ years of experience in a safety role requiring communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment
- OSHA 30 certification
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience
