Senior Editor, Children's - Global Publishing

About the role

We are seeking an innovative, skilled senior editor with a proven track record of success and a robust love of children’s storytelling to join our Global Publishing team. This role is ideal for a creative editorial professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, who thrives in a dynamic studio environment and brings deep experience working across both internal and licensed publishing programs.

Responsibilities

• Acquire new projects and shape editorial strategy for both vertical and licensed titles
• Dialogue with authors, illustrators, and agents
• In-house writing
• Edit manuscripts for a robust list including storybooks, chapter books, beginning readers, coloring and activity, educational, non-fiction, and novelty titles
• Work with art department to review sketches, final art, and cover design
• Manage multiple projects and meet ambitious deadlines
• Oversee title P&Ls
• Cultivate, foster, and maintain relationships with licensees and internal stakeholders
• Interact with TV, film, franchise, animation, consumer products, and brand teams
• Review marketing and publicity materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 8 years+ publishing experience in publishing. Children’s publishing is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; knowledge with Adobe
• Strong P&L management skills
• Extraordinary attention to detail and grammar

Additional Qualifications

• Photoshop and Illustrator preferred

Pay & Benefits

Hiring Salary Range: $85,600.00 - 128,400.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
