About the Role

The Effector Guidance Electronics Department at Raytheon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team as an Electrical Computer Aided Designer Engineer (ECAD). The mission is to develop best-in-industry technologies that align product capabilities with customer needs, empowering engineers to leverage design commonality and innovation while balancing risk and rigor to achieve predictable and affordable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) from conception to manufacturing.
  • Create PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers.
  • Perform schematic capture, component placement, routing of traces, and Gerber/ODB++ file creation.
  • Utilize Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies BluePrint-PCB software.
  • Design layouts for Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies.
  • Work on full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects.
  • Collaborate daily with Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines to ensure design requirements are met, focusing on cost, cycle time, and producibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least two of the following:
    • PCB or CCA manufacturing principles affecting circuitry and component layout.
    • Electrical design process.
    • Layout of Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Analog, Digital (including DDR), RF, Power, and mixed technology, including multi-layer designs with High Density Interconnect (HDI) technology.
  • Technical PCB design skills using Siemens Xpedition Layout tool suite, including schematic capture, placement, routing, auto-router, constraint manager, and library tools.
  • Experience with BluePrint for creating complex PCB and CCA drawings (Altium experience transfers well).
  • Ability to export manufacturing data in Gerber and ODB++ formats.
  • Use of Valor NPI, Design for Manufacturing rule sets, and other Design Rule Checking software.
  • Understanding and interpretation of drawings related to PCBs and CCAs.
  • Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013 standards.
  • Working knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and producibility considerations for electronic packaging.
  • Knowledge of RF circuitry, including key layout considerations and filter design.
  • Working knowledge of operating system concepts, network services, and Microsoft Windows suites.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
