Key Responsibilities
- Lead drainage engineering teams on transportation projects--including freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural highways, and shared-use facilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, public and private site developments, and flood control projects
- Design drainage systems, including storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, and roadside ditches
- Coverge and oversee the work of the assigned design team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements
- Prepare and QC erosion control and/or stormwater management plans, reports, quantities, and specifications
- Serve as lead drainage technical liaison with client on project efforts
- Staff management of local drainage engineering staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of drainage design experience related to transportation infrastructure projects
- Able to lead effectively in a collaborative team environment and foster strong, positive relationships with both team members and clients
- Local county and municipality project experience
- Licensed Utah Professional Engineer
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
- Experience working with Utah Department of Transportation
- Bridge scour revetment design
- Demonstrated work experience with hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Pondpack, and SRH-2D
