Senior Drainage Engineer, Roads and Highways - St. George, UT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drainage engineering teams on transportation projects--including freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural highways, and shared-use facilities
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, public and private site developments, and flood control projects
  • Design drainage systems, including storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, and roadside ditches
  • Coverge and oversee the work of the assigned design team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements
  • Prepare and QC erosion control and/or stormwater management plans, reports, quantities, and specifications
  • Serve as lead drainage technical liaison with client on project efforts
  • Staff management of local drainage engineering staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of drainage design experience related to transportation infrastructure projects
  • Able to lead effectively in a collaborative team environment and foster strong, positive relationships with both team members and clients
  • Local county and municipality project experience
  • Licensed Utah Professional Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
  • Experience working with Utah Department of Transportation
  • Bridge scour revetment design
  • Demonstrated work experience with hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Pondpack, and SRH-2D

Potential Salary Range

$110,000 - $175,000
