Responsibilities
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record, Senior Engineer, or Project Manager on Transportation projects
- Perform and collaborate on drainage analyses with other Drainage staff
- Prepare drainage plans, reports, construction quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for transportation projects
- Perform QC reviews of design documentation and plans prepared by internal staff and other consultants
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with professionals and subconsultants to deliver quality projects within budget and on schedule
- Oversee project design activities, supervise production efforts, and mentor less-experienced engineers
- Build strong working relationships with clients and permitting agencies
- Prepare marketing materials and serve as Drainage Lead during project pursuit presentations
- Perform other management, marketing, and professional networking activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree in a water resources field is a plus)
- 7+ years of relevant FDOT drainage/water resources design experience
- Valid Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, or ability to acquire it within 6 months after hire
- Experience with FDOT drainage design criteria, standards, and procedures
- Experience with permitting requirements of Florida Water Management Districts, FDEP, and USACOE
Skills
- Proficiency with ICPR, ASAD, SUDA, MicroStation, Geopak, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, Civil3D, CADD, ORD, GIS, or similar software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated professional accountable to meeting individual and project goals
