Senior Drainage Engineer
About the role
We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to support our Southeast Region located in any of our Florida offices.
Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports
- Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems
- Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for Transportation Improvement projects
- Permitting with different Regulatory and Water Management agencies
- Assisting and preparing project plans using the latest CADD software including but not limited to MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and/or AutoCAD, among others
- Contributing to the preparation and/or modification of considerable scope and complexity engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
- Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates and project specifications
- Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements
- Preparing and assisting with the preparation of project schedules
- Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule
- Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior level support staff and other designers
- Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s in water resources fields a plus)
- Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in Florida required
- 5 - 10 years of relative/progressive drainage/water resources and FDOT experience
- Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software
- Previous FDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of FDOT standards and procedures
- Previous experience with Florida DEP and Water Management Districts
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
Skills
- Proficiency in computer engineering software
- Knowledge of FDOT standards and procedures
- Experience with Florida DEP and Water Management Districts

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
