About the role

The Senior Director, Apprise at Walker & Dunlop is responsible for providing strategic leadership for a designated territory, driving valuation excellence, business growth, and exceptional client service. Key responsibilities include leading appraisal teams, developing new business opportunities, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with clients and business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for a designated territory and appraisal team.
  • Drive revenue growth by developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance for appraisal reports by reviewing and approving work completed by Certified General and trainee appraisers prior to submission.
  • Stay current on industry regulations and ensure appraisal reports comply with applicable standards and company requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to support business development and relationship management by maintaining existing client relationships, re-engaging inactive clients, managing inbound inquiries, preparing proposals, conducting client reviews, and representing the company at client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
  • Establish and cultivate new client relationships through networking, outreach, and industry engagement.
  • Contribute market insights and thought leadership through LinkedIn and other industry publications.
  • Provide feedback to enhance existing and future company software and technology solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of commercial and/or multifamily real estate valuation experience.
  • Active Certified General Appraiser license in good standing required.
  • MAI designation preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with experience in commercial real estate valuation or underwriting.
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate data platforms such as CoStar, RealPage, Yardi, ESRI, or similar tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong client service orientation.
  • Strong business writing, editing, and grammar skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, prioritize work, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Interest in real estate technology (PropTech) and multifamily real estate.
  • Experience or interest in data science, statistics, analytics, or software programming preferred.
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.

Benefits

The position offers an estimated base salary of $150,000 - $175,000 plus commissions.
