The Opportunity
Reporting into the Vice President, Marketing, the Senior Director, Thought Leader Liaison Lead is a highly visible National leadership role responsible for building and executing Amylyx’s commercial thought leader engagement and regional marketing capability from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Build, hire, and develop a field-based TLL team, establishing the infrastructure, processes, and culture needed to stand up this capability effectively
- Define and execute the TLL strategic plan, including KOL identification and segmentation, key account engagement, and peer-to-peer programming based on educational needs
- Oversee the planning and execution of advisory boards, speaker bureau programs, and congress engagements
- Oversee regional marketing efforts ensuring consistent execution of brand strategy and messaging across geographies, while adapting engagement approaches to local market dynamics and key account priorities
- Build and maintain systems for capturing and synthesizing KOL and field-based insights to inform internal strategy
- Establish and monitor performance metrics and MBOs to measure TLL team effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Partner with Marketing to align TLL field engagement with brand strategy, messaging, commercial priorities, and inform omnichannel optimization
- Partner with Medical Affairs and Regional Scientific Director leadership to ensure compliant collaboration and clear delineation of commercial and medical engagement
- Ensure all commercial thought leader engagement activities are executed in full compliance with regulatory, legal, and company guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial roles, including significant experience in thought leader engagement, sales, or marketing leadership with a minimum of 5 years leading thought leader engagement activities, strategy, and field-based teams
- Deep understanding of KOL engagement best practices, compliance requirements, and the intersection of commercial and medical strategy
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional leadership skills
- High degree of initiative and comfort operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with a bias for building
- Demonstrated success building and leading customer-facing field-based teams in rare disease, specialty, or complex launch environments
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to support field team leadership and customer engagement activities, including overnight and occasional weekend travel
Preferred Requirements
- Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or equivalent)
- Endocrinology experience
