Senior Director, Technology - Enterprise Service Operation & Delivery
This role leads the development, execution, and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology solutions to establish an industry-leading Service Operations & Management (SO&M) organization. The position drives technological modernization and digital transformation across ABM’s Service Operations landscape, building a strong technical foundation for future growth and operational excellence. The Senior Director of Technology combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement, standardization, and digital transformation across all ABM industry groups and service lines. The role serves as the Technology Lead on the SO&M Transformation program, an IT leader, and a representative on the IT Leadership Team, reporting directly to the VP of Client and Workforce Technology. The position will grow to lead a team of architects, business systems analysts, system administrators, and technologists.
Responsibilities
- Technology Leadership & Innovation
- Define and implement enterprise Service Operations and Delivery technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead architecture and design of Service Operations technology solutions, including core CMMS maintenance capabilities such as work order management, preventative maintenance, asset management lifecycle management, capital planning, safety and compliance, and labor and resource management for internal/external resources.
- Drive innovation through emerging technologies (IoT, AI, predictive maintenance) for advanced facilities management capabilities, including mobile workforce management, remote asset performance and monitoring, energy management, and smart facilities and healthy building capabilities.
- Establish technology standards and governance frameworks.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Executives, business team members, IT organization, technology vendors, and partners.
- Digital Transformation
- Serve as the Technology Lead enterprise-wide for SO&M transformation programs and projects, aligned with technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Create a multi-year SO&M technology strategy roadmap across all clients, service lines, and industry groups.
- Influence decision-making and implement enterprise-enabling technologies that drive process standardization and technology unification.
- Oversee Service Operations system integration, data migration, and legacy system modernization or migration.
- Incorporate client needs for technology, including “soft” and “hard” services, process enablement and workflows, client technology and data integration, analytics, dashboards, monitoring, and scorecards.
- Develop and track program and project KPIs and success metrics.
- Assist with building business cases and securing executive alignment.
- Partner with Change Management, Business Leaders, and Engineering to support adoption of enabling technology solutions.
- In 2025, drive technology and partner selection, roadmap development, proof-of-concept execution, and business case development.
- Ongoing Technical Operations
- Lead ongoing technical implementation of Service Operations solutions and integrations.
- Leverage best practices for managing technology product requirements, solutions, and delivery with managed releases and roadmaps.
- Ensure data integrity and quality across systems.
- Direct system testing, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Oversee database management, system performance, and security.
- Establish disaster recovery and business continuity protocols.
- Team Leadership
- Build and manage a highly skilled team by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and goals, succession planning, and appraising performance.
- Provide strong leadership, motivating, mentoring, and developing team members for maximum performance aligned to ABM core values in a distributed and remote working environment.
- Provide project priority direction and task delegation for the team, ensuring deadlines are met and projects stay on budget in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Manage cross-functional technical and project teams.
- Partner with business unit leaders to drive adoption.
- Oversee coordination of training and change management initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.
- Professional certifications in project management (PMP) or ITIL preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
- 10+ years of experience in facilities management and infrastructure, asset management, real estate management, MRO, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in one or more of ABM’s core industry groups (e.g., office buildings, retail, healthcare, education, manufacturing, aviation).
- 10+ years' experience with CMMS/Field Service enterprise systems implementation and optimization (e.g., Corrigo, Maximo, SFDC, Oracle).
- Proven track record leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting standardizing processes across complex organizations.
- Strong background in system architecture and integration.
- Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing technical teams.

Pay
$143,500 - $200,000. The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You will also be eligible to participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
