About the role

Leads the company’s retail product safety and regulatory compliance testing and standards program, ensuring robust implementation and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, testing protocols, and controls that support compliance across all non-food categories. Drives subject matter expertise, harmonizes product compliance processes and testing standards, and ensures the organization is prepared for evolving regulatory requirements and market expansion.

About the team

The Specialty Compliance and Ethics team leads the development and execution of strategies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards. Collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders, the team monitors compliance risks, updates policies, and implements training programs. They align compliance initiatives with business objectives while promoting integrity and accountability. By leveraging industry best practices and continuous improvement, the team supports effective risk management and fosters transparent communication across the organization to uphold Walmart’s commitment to lawful and ethical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of product safety and regulatory compliance frameworks, testing protocols, policies, and procedures for all non-food categories.
  • Lead the teams specializing in product safety and regulatory compliance across all regulatory requirements, including chemicals, energy, communications, health and wellness, etc.
  • Support cross-market harmonization and scalability of product testing standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including quality, product development, merchandising, sourcing, supply chain, government affairs, and legal teams to support compliant products.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of associates responsible for product safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and proactive collaboration across the compliance organization.

Requirements

  • Expertise in product regulatory compliance across multiple product categories and markets.
  • Proven ability to interpret and implement state and federal laws and regulations within complex organizations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with process management, data analytics, and technology-enabled compliance solutions.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and a passion for associate development.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and collaborating with senior management.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 4 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 5 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Law or Master's in Business Administration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
