About Us

At Domino, we build software that helps the largest, AI-driven organizations build and operate advanced data science and AI solutions at scale. Our platform integrates a streamlined model development environment, MLOps capabilities, and novel features for collaboration, reuse, and reproducibility — all of which make data science teams more productive, reduce time to value, and ensure compliance. Our customers — like Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Bristol Myers, UBS, FINRA and the US Navy — are using our software to solve some of the world’s most important challenges, such as developing new medicines, securing financial markets, or protecting our country.

Backed by Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, NVIDIA, Snowflake and other leading investors, we have been in business for a decade but operate with the spirit of a startup. In the rapidly evolving world of AI, we believe the future is still being invented — and we want to be the ones building it.

About the Team

Domino’s Solutions team is the customer-facing engine behind how leading enterprises build, scale, and govern AI-powered applications — solving real business challenges, not just deploying technology. The team consists of three functions:

  • Solutions Engineering: Earns technical credibility before the deal closes.
  • Customer Engineering: Owns everything after the sale — adoption, implementation, expansion, and delivery that drives renewals and growth. This role is part of Customer Engineering.
  • Global Support and SRE: Ensures the platform runs at the level enterprise customers depend on.

Together, these functions operate as one relentless motion, earning their reputation on what they ship, not what they scope.

Responsibilities

  • Own pre-sales as a function, not a set of individual deals: set and enforce standards for how opportunities are qualified, POCs are scoped, and SEs engage — with a single, consistent bar across the team regardless of which GVP or AE is involved.
  • Act as a check on the sales process: use your standing and judgment to push back on deals, scopes, or timelines that don’t meet the bar — even when it means having uncomfortable conversations with GVPs or top sellers.
  • Coach and develop the SE team: provide real, specific feedback on technical approach, deal strategy, and customer needs — not just process oversight from a distance.
  • Bring technical fluency to ask hard questions before the customer or SE does: you don’t need to build the model, but you must recognize when the architecture, POC design, or technical claim doesn’t hold up.
  • Partner as a peer with GVPs and account teams: shape how $5M+ enterprise deals are qualified, resourced, and run, and hold your ground when priorities compete.
  • Build the operating rhythm for pre-sales: manage capacity allocation, opportunity prioritization, and recurring cadences to ensure SE time is spent on deals that deserve it.
  • Recruit and build the bench: as the team scales, identify gaps, hire against them, and build a pre-sales org that can compete with enterprise competitors.
  • Be a discerning voice on deal quality: distinguish between deals worth the team’s time and those that aren’t, and provide recommendations, not just red flags.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in enterprise, solution-selling pre-sales or sales engineering, with direct experience on complex $5M+ deals — you understand what real enterprise sales cycles demand.
  • People leadership experience is required: you’ve built, coached, and managed a technical or pre-sales team, and know how to develop talent, not just direct it.
  • An operational builder at heart: you define process where none exists, hold people to it, and challenge "how we’ve always done it" with better approaches.
  • Presence that holds up in high-stakes rooms: you can stand toe-to-toe with a GVP or enterprise seller and enforce rigor under pressure.
  • Technically conversant, not technically deep: you understand AI/ML delivery well enough to earn respect from the SE team and catch shaky technical claims — but you don’t need to be the most technical person in the room.
  • Sharp, discerning judgment on opportunity quality: you critically evaluate qualification, technical fit, and deal health — no rubber-stamping.
  • No vertical expertise required — your edge is operational and sales rigor, not domain specialization.
  • Comfortable with travel and heavy customer-facing time; East Coast location preferred.

What We Value

  • Diversity: We strongly believe in growing a diverse team and encourage people of all backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, abilities, and sexual orientations to apply.
  • Growth mindset: High-performing individuals who dig into problems and see opportunities for success.
  • Authenticity: People who seek truth, speak the truth, and can be their whole selves at work.
  • Continuous improvement: Individuals who believe improving is always possible — at Domino, everything is a work in progress.
  • Learning and teaching: An environment that equips employees with the tools needed to succeed in their function and the company.
