Responsibilities
- Oversees and directs multiple business groups ensuring delivery of function activities while constantly driving for continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Demonstrates experience in managing functional budgets and developing budget forecasts enabling the business function to achieve expected outcomes.
- Directs the RQS onboarding services and optimizes professional and system training efforts to support the business strategy.
- Directs business objectives and performance goals, for business operations activities such as procurement, contract and vendor management, invoicing, space and headcount, and administrative assistant optimization.
- Led the RQS communities of practice programs, a formal mechanism for providing direction (push) and receiving coordinated information (pull) for in function operational activities.
- Develops compelling value propositions, business cases for proposed initiatives while collaborating effectively with executive level teams and stakeholders across AbbVie.
- Effectively frames complex issues for decision-makers and peers.
- Prepares and delivers effective management presentations to AbbVie Leadership.
- Draws upon personal knowledge of business processes, global regulations, organizational improvement methods, and communication mechanisms to propose and design innovative organizational improvements.
- Leads project teams effectively including escalation and resolution of project issues.
- Exercises superior interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills to create and sustain an environment that attracts, develops, and retains RQS Operations staff while enhancing organizational communications and structure, business relationships, business consulting, and project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications a plus. Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Minimum 12+ years Business Solutions related experience required. 7+ years in regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, or R&D quality assurance preferred. 7+ years in pharmaceutical, healthcare or regulated industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, i.e. FDA and European Union and their impact to organization processes and technology tools preferred. Knowledge/awareness of industry trends preferred.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement/Lean Six Sigma concepts preferred.
- Proven 10 years in a leadership role with strong management skills required. Experience serving as and managing business management consultants preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written required. Ability to craft compelling business cases and sell new ideas preferred.
- Strong business acumen and negotiating skills required.
- Experience working in a complex and matrix environment required. Demonstrated ability to lead multi-divisional and multi-functional teams with global aspects required.
- Experience analyzing complex business problems and facilitating the design of innovative solutions preferred. Experience in managing functional budgets and developing budget forecasts preferred.
- Multiple years’ experience leading and managing functional business area preferred.
