About the role
We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Director, Scientific Communications to lead the scientific communications strategy for a late-stage biotech company advancing lanifibranor, an investigational MASH/NASH drug, toward commercialization. This role will shape the company’s scientific narrative, oversee publications and congress communications, and ensure high-quality, compliant dissemination of clinical and scientific data.
This is a highly visible leadership role that will partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs as the organization prepares for launch.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global scientific communications and publications strategy aligned with lanifibranor’s development and launch timelines.
- Own the integrated publication plan, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations, and data disclosures.
- Oversee scientific content development for major medical congresses, including abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and symposia.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant communication of clinical data following ICMJE, GPP, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Field Medical, and Commercial teams.
- Manage and develop a high-performing scientific communications team and external vendors (e.g., agencies, medical writers).
- Establish processes, governance, and best practices to support operational excellence and inspection readiness.
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree required (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience in Scientific Communications, Publications, or Medical Affairs within biotech or pharmaceutical companies.
- Proven experience leading scientific publications and congress strategy for late-stage (Phase 3) programs.
- Prior vendor management experience.
- Strong scientific acumen, communication skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a pre-commercial or high-growth biotech environment.
- Launch experience with a novel or specialty therapy.
- Background in MASH/NASH or other highly scientific therapeutic areas.
- Global scientific communications leadership experience.
