About the Role

ATI is a global leader in specialty materials and advanced manufacturing solutions serving the aerospace & defense, energy, medical, and industrial markets. The Sr. Director, Procurement - Specialty Materials (SM) leads strategic sourcing and procurement operations for ATI’s Specialty Materials segment, representing more than $1 billion in annual spend. This role develops and executes procurement strategies in partnership with enterprise procurement leadership to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, operational excellence, and long-term value creation across raw materials, scrap, MRO, indirect goods and services, and selected capital expenditures.

As a strategic business partner to Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, and Enterprise Procurement leadership, this leader is accountable for procurement performance, supplier strategy, working capital optimization, risk management, and organizational capability development in support of ATI’s growth, profitability, and customer commitments. The position is based at our Specialty Materials headquarters in Monroe, North Carolina, and is an onsite leadership role, reporting to the Chief of Supply Chain & Strategic Growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, scrap, MRO, indirect goods and services, and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Drive significant impact on EBITDA, working capital, inventory performance, and operational reliability.
  • Lead supplier performance and supply chain resilience initiatives.
  • Optimize financial and operational performance through strategic sourcing and procurement.
  • Provide organizational leadership and talent development for the Specialty Materials procurement team.
  • Engage with executive leadership and external stakeholders to influence customer delivery performance, production schedules, and business growth objectives.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, operations, or sourcing leadership experience.
  • Significant experience within specialty metals, advanced materials, aerospace materials, industrial manufacturing, mining, or related sectors.
  • Experience managing large, strategic spend portfolios and developing sourcing strategies that improve cost, supply continuity, and operational performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in specialty metals, titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless, or high-performance materials industries.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
