OverviewPoint Predictive is redefining fraud detection and risk decisioning for lenders through large-scale consortium data, machine learning, and real-time systems. We are seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead the design, delivery, and reliability of our production platforms. This role will own the end-to-end engineering execution behind our core products, including real-time APIs, data ingestion, and decisioning systems that operate at scale across financial institutions. This leader will partner closely with the VP of Data & Technology to align engineering with data science and product priorities, ensuring that models, data, and customer-facing systems are seamlessly integrated and production-ready. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of technical depth, execution rigor, and leadership - with the ability to scale both systems and teams in a high-growth environment, while leveraging modern AI tools to improve engineering velocity and quality. ResponsibilitiesOwn engineering delivery, system reliability, and production outcomes across APIs, UI, and real-time decisioning systemsEstablish and own QA and release strategy, including automated testing, regression coverage, and safe deployment practices (e.g., shadow mode, canary releases)Implement real-time monitoring, alerting, and observability across the full stack to proactively detect and resolve issues before customer impactDrive architecture across backend and frontend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and a consistent user experiencePartner closely with Data Science to productionize machine learning models in real-time systemsOperate as a hands-on leader, able to dive into system design, debugging, and critical production issuesLead and scale the engineering team, setting a high bar for execution, code quality, and accountabilityEstablish strong engineering practices across CI/CD, incident response, and operational excellenceLeverage modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to improve productivity, testing rigor, and overall engineering qualityCollaborate with Product and Customer teams to ensure smooth deployments and high-quality integrationsOwn technical roadmap and execution aligned to company prioritiesEnsure systems meet security, compliance, and data governance requirements in a regulated financial environment Qualifications10–15+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years leading teams and managersProven ability to drive engineering execution and deliver reliable production systems at scaleStrong experience with distributed systems and full-stack architecture (APIs, backend, and UI)Experience building and scaling systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred)Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to engage in architecture, debugging, and critical system decisionsExperience in high-growth or scaling environments, with a track record of building teams and systems through changeStrong experience with QA, release processes, and progressive deployment strategies (e.g., shadow mode, canary releases)Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability across distributed systemsExperience partnering with data science teams to productionize machine learning modelsComfort leveraging AI-assisted / agentic development tools to improve engineering productivity and reduce errorsStrong communication skills and ability to align cross-functional stakeholdersExperience in financial services, lending, or fraud detection is a plus What Success Looks LikeConsistent, reliable delivery with minimal production issuesPredictable, low-risk releases supported by strong QA and pre-production validationIssues identified and resolved proactively through monitoring and alertingAPIs, UI, and decisioning systems operate as a cohesive, high-performing platformData science models are seamlessly integrated into productionEngineering teams leverage AI tools to improve speed and reduce errorsClear ownership, accountability, and strong cross-functional partnership Why This RoleOwn and scale the engineering backbone of a company delivering real-time fraud and risk decisionsHigh visibility role with direct impact on product performance and customer outcomesOpportunity to build and shape a strong engineering organization during a critical growth phaseWork directly with executive leadership to define technical direction and execution strategy Education:Bachelor's or Master’s (Preferred) Pay: $180,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance Application Question(s):This is an in-person-only position.
