Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for a significant product portfolio aligned with company objectives.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of customer obsession, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Engineering leadership to prioritize investments, balance innovation with execution, and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
- Engage directly with customers, prospects, analysts, and strategic partners to understand emerging market trends, validate product direction, and strengthen Proofpoint's market leadership.
- Translate customer needs, competitive dynamics, and business opportunities into actionable product strategies and investment decisions.
- Establish and monitor product success metrics, leveraging customer insights and product analytics to inform prioritization and continuous improvement.
- Lead portfolio planning, roadmap communication, and executive reviews, ensuring transparency around priorities, tradeoffs, and business outcomes.
- Represent the product organization in executive briefings, customer meetings, industry events, and analyst engagements.
- Identify strategic technology partnerships and ecosystem opportunities that accelerate customer value and business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of product management experience, including leadership of enterprise software products from strategy through execution and multiple years managing Product Managers and organizational leaders.
- Proven experience defining and executing product strategy for complex enterprise software or cybersecurity products.
- Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and leading high-performing Product Management organizations.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of enterprise customer needs, buying processes, and administrative workflows.
- Excellent strategic thinking with the ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and commercial priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using customer feedback, market research, and product data to guide investment decisions.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate vision, strategy, tradeoffs, and outcomes to technical and executive audiences.
- Experience representing products with customers, partners, analysts, and at industry events.

Pay
This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off. Base pay ranges:
- SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area: $278,300.00 - $382,690.00 USD
- California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska: $221,400.00 - $304,370.00 USD
- All other cities and states excluding those listed above: $196,700.00 - $270,490.00 USD
