Senior Director of Operations
Job Description and Responsibilities
Work in tandem with the VP of Operations and Ops leadership team to implement operational improvements, strategic goals, and policies for 22 locations across North America.
Promotes continuous improvements to layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space to drive efficient operations and staff up the employee base as required.
Manages policies and procedures across all facilities to ensure warehouse operations run smoothly and product is delivered to the customer in a timely, accurate, and undamaged state.
Focus on safety culture and initiatives and the training supporting the program.
Utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other systems to track and analyze processes and performance, track metrics and produce reports.
Establish and drive a culture of continuous improvement leveraging best practice tools and methodologies, to deliver year-over-year cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
Manages and monitors operating budgets to ensure profitability and cost control.
Develops or directs the creation of metrics to measure the performance of all areas of warehouse and logistics.
Helps lead the constant focus on ensuring an accurate inventory at all times.
Provides leadership, direction and coaching to develop a high-performance team and leverages the learning management system to train the workforce to the highest level of competence.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, related field OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Warehouse Management, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
- 7+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
- 25% travel required.
- Electrical or wire and cable industry experience preferred.
- Experience in an ERP, CRM, and/or WMS.
- Infor M3 ERP experience/expertise highly preferred.
- Certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, or related certifications/training) are preferred.
