About the role

Lead the strategic direction and operational maturity of a growing Data & Analytics organization within a technology-focused environment. Translate executive vision into clear roadmaps, priorities, staffing plans, and measurable outcomes. Oversee data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, governance, and quality functions while building a high-performing internal team. Shape modern cloud data architecture, enterprise integrations, data quality, and analytics capabilities. Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, and technology to turn complex data into actionable business insights. Foster a data-driven culture and introduce modern platforms and AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, scalability, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior operating leader for the Data & Analytics organization, translating strategic direction into staffing plans, delivery roadmaps, quarterly priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery and evolution of a Microsoft Fabric medallion architecture spanning bronze, silver, gold, and semantic layers.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop teams across data engineering, analytics/BI, data governance, and QA, including performance management, career development, organizational design, and retention.
  • Partner with stakeholders across property operations, finance, technology, and other business functions to prioritize analytics, reporting, cross-platform integrations, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce data governance, quality, security, architectural, and coding standards across more than 30 source integrations, including enterprise business systems and CRM platforms.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development and analytics tools to improve engineering velocity, automation, and delivery efficiency.
  • Present roadmap progress, delivery risks, organizational health, and strategic recommendations to senior executive leadership.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, budgets, managed services, and staff augmentation relationships while making effective resourcing decisions.
  • Work closely with data architecture leadership to ensure solutions remain scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, including 5+ years in people leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including medallion/lakehouse architectures, semantic modeling, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing technical teams, particularly within a newly established, rebuilding, or transformation-oriented organization.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical strategies into clear business outcomes for senior leadership.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, budgets, managed services, and staff augmentation engagements, including contract negotiations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to prioritize competing business and technical requirements.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and evolving environments while establishing structure, accountability, and scalable processes.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted development and analytics tools and their practical application to team productivity.
  • Experience in multifamily housing, real estate, property operations, or a similar operationally complex industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work remotely with a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connectivity.
  • Ability to travel overnight on an occasional basis, approximately quarterly, for business needs.
