Senior Director, Leadership Giving
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose. Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. IMPORTANT: include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. "commensurate with experience", "not specified", "N/A", "varies", "TBD") and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Output ONLY the HTML fragment — no /, no markdown code fences.
Thus we need to parse the posting and produce sections: maybe "About the organization" (but they said headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). However we can adapt: "About Audubon" could be considered "About the role"? Actually "About the role" is generic heading for role description. But we have "Position Summary". Could map to "About the role". Also we have "Compensation" which is Pay. Also we have "Qualifications And Experience". Also we have "Essential Functions" which could be Responsibilities. Also we have "Hybrid" location info maybe schedule? Not exactly schedule but hybrid work expectations. Could be Schedule? Not exactly. The instruction: only create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections if posting actually states them. Pay is stated: Compensation $186,000 - $208,000 / year = Oakland, CA. So we need a Pay section. Schedule? Not explicitly given; they mention hybrid expectations: work in office Monday and Tuesday plus two additional days each month. That's a schedule of sorts. Could be considered Schedule. Benefits? Not mentioned explicitly. So we should not create Benefits unless present. There's no explicit benefits list. So we omit Benefits.
We need sections: About the role (Position Summary), Responsibilities (Essential Functions), Qualifications (Qualifications And Experience), Pay (Compensation), Schedule (Hybrid work expectations). Possibly also Skills? Not separate; qualifications include skills. Could combine.
We must not repeat job title. Use
for each section heading. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. For prose use
.
We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include details from each section.
Let's extract content:
About Audubon paragraph: description of organization.
Position Summary: multiple sentences describing role.

- items.
Qualifications And Experience: list of bullet-like sentences.
Compensation: "$186,000 - $208,000 / year = Oakland, CA". Also maybe mention hybrid location preferences.
Schedule/Hybrid: "The position is hybrid preferably to the Oakland, CA Office. Other locations in California may be considered in accordance with Audubon’s “Where We Work” Policy. Hybrid employees are expected to work in an Audubon office every Monday and Tuesday and an additional two days each month of the employees’ choosing. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of one of Audubon’s offices, which also include locations in: Palm Desert, CA and Sacramento, CA."
We need to include that as Schedule section.

Let's craft the About the role paragraph: combine About Audubon and Position Summary? The instruction: About the role heading likely for role description, not organization. But we have both About Audubon (organization) and Position Summary (role). Could we include About Audubon as part of About the role? Might be okay to include both under About the role. However they said "About the role" as example heading; we could also have "About Audubon" but not in list. Safer to follow examples: use About the role for role description; we could put Organization description under About the role as context. Or we could create a separate section like "About Audubon" but not in allowed headings; but they said use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). That implies we can use those headings, but not limited to them? It says use for section headings (e.g. ...). Likely they expect those headings. So we should stick to those. So we need to map content to those headings.
Thus:
About the role: include Position Summary plus maybe brief org description? Could include both.
Responsibilities: Essential Functions.
Qualifications: Qualifications And Experience.
Pay: Compensation.
Schedule: Hybrid work expectations.
We should not include Skills separate.
Now craft the content precisely.
About the role paragraph: combine the Audubon description and Position Summary? Might be too long but okay.
Let's write:
The National Audubon Society is a leading nonprofit conservation organization with 120 years of science-based, community-driven impact, dedicated to protecting birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. Birds are powerful indicators of our planet’s health, acting as sentinels that warn us of environmental change and inspire action. Audubon works across the Western Hemisphere, driven by the understanding that what is good for birds is good for the planet. Through a collaborative, bipartisan approach across habitats, borders, and the political spectrum, Audubon drives meaningful and lasting conservation outcomes. With 800 staff and over 1.9 million supporters, Audubon is a dynamic and ever-growing force committed to ensuring a better planet for both birds and people for generations to come. The Senior Director, Leadership Giving collaborates closely with members of Development, Executive, and Senior Leadership Teams and represents Audubon’s hemispheric fundraising interests as a senior individual-giving focused fundraiser. This position will report to the Vice President of Leadership Giving. The Senior Director will be responsible for charting a path of ambitious growth in major and principal gifts to support Audubon’s hemispheric conservation vision, as well as collaborate with the Gift Planning team to secure bequest intentions and non-cash assets from high-net-worth individuals. They will also provide fundraising leadership for Audubon, supporting a team of gift officers and natural partners in their own fundraising work to help maximize Audubon’s philanthropic potential. The Senior Director will manage a portfolio of major and principal gift donors and prospects; supervise and grow an existing team of frontline fundraisers and support staff; and partner closely with Audubon’s State and Center Directors as well as Strategic Leads to grow an already successful fundraising operation. They will work closely with the VP Leadership Giving to build a cohesive and effective Leadership Giving team that delivers consistent growth in contributed revenue from individual donors, with a focus on unrestricted, and lightly restricted gifts, and help develop and lead multi-year fundraising initiatives for programs and Audubon assets as needed and assigned. This role will also work closely with Board Members—advisory board members as well as fiduciary board members of the National Audubon Society—to engage them in the identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of major, principal, and planned gifts. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, have demonstrated experience closing six- and seven-figure gifts, and must have a high EQ for managing up, down, and laterally in all levels of the organization. The position is hybrid preferably to the Oakland, CA Office. Other locations in California may be considered in accordance with Audubon’s “Where We Work” Policy. Hybrid employees are expected to work in an Audubon office every Monday and Tuesday and an additional two days each month of the employees’ choosing. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of one of Audubon’s offices, which also include locations in: Palm Desert, CA and Sacramento, CA.
But note we moved hybrid info to About the role; but we also need Schedule section. To avoid duplication, we should not repeat hybrid info in About the role if we will have Schedule section. However the instruction: Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. If we put hybrid info only in Schedule section, we must still include it somewhere. So we can keep About the role without hybrid details, and put hybrid details in Schedule. But the About the role paragraph currently includes hybrid info; we need to remove that part to avoid duplication. Let's split.
Thus About the role paragraph will include Audubon description and Position Summary (excluding hybrid details). Then Schedule section will contain hybrid details.
Let's extract Position Summary without hybrid: The Position Summary paragraph ends before "The position is hybrid...". So we cut there.
Thus About the role paragraph: Audubon description + Position Summary (up to before hybrid). Let's craft that.
