Senior Director, Global Analytics & Insights
About the role
AstraZeneca’s Oncology Business Unit is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a cause of death. In this role, you will lead a program of insight and analysis to support clinical development through commercialization for specific assets and/or tumor indications. You will act as a thought partner to the Global Franchise Head, providing deep insights and strategic direction for franchise-level initiatives within the Global Analytics & Insights (GA&I) team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the point of contact for a specific tumor indication portfolio and the Brand in the Global Oncology franchise, engaging in global brand strategy development and business planning in collaboration with cross-functional leads.
- Build institutional knowledge of key disease areas, including HCP and patient insights, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and implications for the AZ portfolio.
- Execute key strategic projects for the disease area portfolio and Brand in partnership with Franchise leadership and functions.
- Act as a knowledge expert to lead planning and expand capabilities supporting Clinical Development Plan (CDP) and commercial strategy for future assets.
- Develop deep therapy area expertise bridging clinical development through commercialization.
- Uncover strategic insights about patients, markets, stakeholders, competitors, and brands to drive competitive advantage.
- Serve as a collaborative and strategic partner to Global Brand Teams and R&D Product teams, bringing objectivity to decision-making.
- Provide an independent, external, and future-oriented perspective in decision-making bodies.
- Lead the integration of insights and analysis from various sources to inform material decisions, delivering robust opportunity-focused forecasts.
- Consolidate data and information into actionable brand opportunities.
- Provide objective quantitative analyses and lead the development of business cases to address critical business issues.
- Lead a small team of Global Analytics and Insights experts, fostering an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a Science or Mathematics discipline and/or MBA.
- 6+ years of analytical experience in the pharmaceutical or consulting industry.
- Excellent communication skills with experience engaging and communicating with senior executives.
- Experience in a similar strategy role within the pharmaceutical industry or life science consulting.
- Ability to use data and analysis to influence or change market or customer understanding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a consulting, advisory, or investment firm within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working with a pharma product close to launch or post-launch.
- Experience working in a global team.
Pay
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $218,329.60 to $327,494.40. Base pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligible positions also offer a short-term incentive bonus, participation in an equity-based long-term incentive program (for salaried roles), and retirement contributions (for hourly roles).
