Senior Director, Engagement and Annual Giving

About the role

This administrative position is responsible for providing overall leadership in the implementation and evaluation of Broward College’s engagement and annual giving, which include overseeing, planning and administering alumni engagement, stewardship and donor engagement, marketing and communications, as well as a creative and comprehensive annual giving program at Broward College.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, executes, evaluates strategically aligned revenue and participation goals for annual giving program that generates unrestricted and budget-relieving revenue for the College.

  • Creates annual goals on upgrade, renewal/retention, and acquisition of alumni, faculty, staff and friend donors and institutes new strategies and tactics to reach goals.

  • Manages and supervises team that integrates alumni and donor engagement strategies to build pipeline of engaged alumni and donors.

  • Works effectively with colleagues in the Office of Advancement to plan, execute and evaluate annual giving strategies to move existing donors.

  • Works with marketing and communications to design and facilitate an effective communications strategy for annual giving, alumni engagement, stewardship and the Broward College Foundation.

  • Affords regular assessment of communications to key constituents for opportunities to refine and strengthen content and strategy.

  • Collaborates with stewardship and donor relations to design and facilitate effective donor stewardship focused on retention and engagement.

  • Collaborates with database software team and College partners to design and utilize effective electronic giving opportunities via the web and social media.

  • Strategizes and executes signature programs and events and incorporates annual giving opportunities when appropriate.

  • Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination, and discipline. Setting performance standards of volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • CFRE preferred

  • Eight years in relevant fund-raising or sales experience, preferably in a non-profit environment and previous management experience.

  • Proven effective and progressive experience in facilitating annual giving goals and programs, coordinating with alumni (or constituent) engagement programs, and managing resources.

  • Strong written, verbal, phone, email, social media and face-to-face communications experience, as well as volunteer and project management experience.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in the fundamental basics, best practices and current innovations in annual giving as well as understanding how they intersect with and complement alumni engagement, marketing and communications, as well as stewardship.

  • Ability to manage work assignments.

  • Utilize database information to plan, facilitate and evaluate programs.

  • Execute all forms of programming and communication (events, direct mail, telephone, volunteer management, personal solicitation, social media, and electronic solicitation).

Pay

$77,838 - $89,513 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
