About the role
Due to tremendous demand within the region, we are looking to hire Senior Director / Director level candidates (depending on experience) in our Tax Practice in Japan. Our Tax Practice covers all aspects of tax advisory services in Asia, including M&A tax due diligence, tax structuring, transfer pricing advisory and compliance services, general tax advisory services etc. This position will lead and/or execute a diverse range of complex assignments as well as provide advice on cross-border transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead various tax advisory assignments, including but not limited to legal entity and operational restructuring, tax incentive assessment and application, fund structuring advice, etc.
- Lead projects for Japan corporate tax compliance, including but not limited to, liaising with clients for information required, preparation / review of estimated chargeable income, preparation / review of tax computations, preparation and submission of tax returns as well as handling queries from the regulatory authorities.
- Lead tax due diligence projects, helping to identify key tax risks and potential deal breakers, and assist with tax structuring for the potential transaction in the context of clients’ investment strategy.
- Assist in various thought leadership publications relating to tax updates and various marketing campaigns to amplify the A&M brand, particularly in Japan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- 12+ years of tax consulting experience is expected.
- Licenses of Japan Tax Accountant and/or Japan CPA is preferred.
- Possess strong leadership, execution, and coaching skills.
- Ability to exceed client expectations and deliver high quality client service.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment.
- Good writing, analytical, research and organizational skills.
- Business level Japanese language skills including ability to read Kanji characters.
Qualifications
