About the role

The Senior Director, Development (Data Center Construction) role at QTS Data Centers requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. This position functions as the point of contact for new client builds and implementations, liaising between the QTS Sales Team, Operations Team, Property Development Team, and the Customer. The role reports into the QTS Property Development department and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer (CHO) and Chief Real Estate Officer (CRO).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location
  • Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team and supporting specialty consultants to support customer's design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes
  • Manage the delivery of these projects, aligning clients' objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization
  • Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget
  • Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
  • Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
  • Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
  • Be able to be on site in West Texas 100% of the time

Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects
  • Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge
  • Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment, RCDD a plus.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff
  • Ability to influence cross-discipline teams
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company
