About the role
Lead end-to-end delivery of modern data platforms — owning scope, schedule, budget, and outcomes.
Run geographically diverse agile delivery teams, guide medallion/Lakehouse architectures, and translate client business goals into scalable solutions on Snowflake, Azure, and Databricks.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of large, multi-workstream data platform programs — scope, timeline, budget, quality, risk, and business outcomes.
- Serve as senior client relationship manager — guiding executives through strategy, tradeoffs, change requests, and steering committees.
- Shape target-state architecture across Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric/Azure, and adjacent tooling.
- Provide architectural stewardship: lakehouse/medallion patterns, data contracts, CI/CD for data, observability, governance, and lineage.
- Lead agile cross-functional teams (data engineering, analytics, platform ops); mature Scrum/Kanban practices and coordinate onshore/offshore delivery.
- Own commercial performance: SOW alignment, staffing, budget forecasting, margin, risk, and acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to practice growth — playbooks, accelerators, pre-sales support, proposals, and client opportunity development.
- Support pursuits: scoping, estimating, staffing, and executive-level storytelling; serve as technical authority in client workshops and due diligence.
- Drive business development (pipeline, proposals, account expansion) and support recruiting/mentorship as the practice scales.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years technology delivery experience, including 5+ years leading data platform/engineering/analytics transformation programs in consulting (required).
- Proven success managing $1M–$5M+ multi-workstream programs with distributed US/offshore teams and senior client stakeholders.
- Hands-on technical fluency: Snowflake (warehouses, RBAC, performance/cost tuning), Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services (ADF, Synapse, ADLS, networking/security), and ingestion/transformation tooling (Fivetran; dbt a plus).
- Ability to credibly guide architecture and review technical decisions, not just manage status.
- Practical expertise in lakehouse/medallion architectures, governance, data modeling, and data quality/observability.
- Strong agile delivery skills (Scrum/Kanban, Jira/Azure DevOps, CI/CD for data, Git workflows).
- Strong executive communication with VP/C-suite/sponsor-level stakeholders.
- Strong commercial instincts — proposals, staffing strategy, engagement economics.
- Nice to have: regulated industries, FinOps for data platforms, GDPR/CCPA, Power BI/Fabric, PE-backed environments, Office of the CFO transformations, or broader AI-led value creation work.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in CS, IS, Engineering, adjacent technical degree (Math, Physics, etc.), or equivalent experience.
- MBA a plus.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe; SnowPro; Azure DP-203/AZ-305 a plus.
Skills
- Trusted advisor connecting business goals to platform execution, leading teams through ambiguity.
- Programs delivered with quality, predictable execution, and measurable outcomes.
- Engagements expand through delivery with credibility and strong executive relationships.
- The Data Platform team grows stronger through mentorship, hiring, and repeatable standards.
