Overview
The Engineering Technologists Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) builds products that power critical infrastructure, solutions, and data management for our customers. The team designs and develops hardware and software that connects infrastructure, accelerates computational workloads, integrates across the stack, protects data continuity, and delivers the platforms, applications, and diagnostics our customers rely on.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of highly skilled SMEs in the development of next-generation large-scale AI systems including accelerated compute, AI fabrics, and AI-optimized storage and AI software stack.
- Assimilate and understand the industry and competitive environment for a given technology or product line, and derive a technology/product strategy from this information.
- Lead technology investigations, perform a strategic analysis of industry capabilities, and develop recommendations that influence the technical product strategy and/or definition of products for a given product line, including evaluation of potential acquisitions and vendor partner opportunities.
- Engage design teams, systems engineering, marketing teams, suppliers, and business unit leaders and executives to ensure the strategy or product architecture meets Dell's requirement of product leadership for the given technology area or product line.
Requirements
- 18+ years overall experience with 5+ years leading and directing the strategic and operational objectives of their organization related to HPC (high-performance compute) clusters, AI compute, AI Datacenter, AI Storage, etc., AI hardware + software infrastructure, and an understanding of the challenges in scaling AI infra including large-scale GPU servers, liquid cooling and power, networking, storage, operational challenges with managing and maintaining the infra, etc., along with exposure to AI software layers including Kubernetes, Pytorch, vllm, etc., and an understanding of how AI workloads perform and scale on this infra.
- Experience developing long-term technology strategies based on technical and business information.
- Drive for internal and external alignment of the strategy along with developing differentiation opportunities, providing technical information, and making recommendations to marketing, procurement, engineering, customers, and business executives.
- Participate as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as PhD, Masters, or equivalent experience.
