Senior Director Construction Services Procurement

The Sr. Director, Construction Services Procurement drives strategy in partnership with the Development organization for procurement of critical construction related services.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic procurement team functions supporting development construction activities, focusing predominantly on personnel development, internal peer relationships, and value delivered to QTS through organizational effectiveness.
- Leveraging portfolio buying power against projected business needs to make strategic purchases, with high focus on technically excellent labor forces that enable QTS Data Centers to be built quickly at the highest possible quality.
- Manage strategic coordination with development leadership to optimize labor availability within specific project timelines.
- Deploy strategies that accelerate build schedules and optimize cost via data visualization and partner engagement.
- Lead team managing RFP processes supporting all development project needs, including RFPs for designers, construction managers, commissioning agents, third party services, etc.
- Accountable for team targeting and achieving cost savings through strategic sourced solution.
- Build relationships that enhance QTS ability to be leader in creating World’s Most Valuable Data Center Real Estate
- Analyze category spend management opportunities, conducts research to understand the supply market and commodity trends, and deploy appropriate strategic plans and track KPI’s.
- Lead collaboration with key stakeholders to understand business initiatives and drive success of each initiative to meet company objectives
- Continuously identifies and implements strategies and improvement initiatives to increase speed to market, improve quality, and result in a lower total cost of ownership.
- Continuously evaluates supplier performance to create and lead teams to improve supplier performance, as necessary.
- Understand business impacts and align with stakeholders to effectively assess risk levels, manage supply continuity, develop contingency plans, and establish risk management strategies to mitigate risk.
Qualifications
BA/BS in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent degree and/or a minimum of ten plus years’ experience in procurement and supply chain roles. Deep knowledge of the general contractor project bid submission process, including estimating and sub-contractor selection. Five or more years of experience leading a team of professionals. Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain community and the motivations behind same.
Preferred Qualifications
- Twelve or more years direct experience in global supply chain management, category management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and vendor management in variety of categories
- Direct experiences in the following categories: Facility Management, Critical Electrical and Mechanical Equipment, IT Hardware and Software, Data Center Construction Design and Construction, Professional Services, Real Estate Development
- Experienced in transforming procurement function.
