Senior Director, Business Planning & Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models for portfolio companies and internal operations
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and variance analysis
  • Develop long-range strategic planning processes
  • Track and analyze actuals vs. budget; identify key drivers and variances
  • Affirm cash planning, runway analysis, and capital allocation decisions
  • Operational Finance: Improve and streamline financial reporting processes and tools
  • Support implementation and maintenance of financial systems and dashboards
  • Afford ad hoc financial and operational analyses as needed
  • Strategic Planning Support: Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives and business planning
  • Build models and analyses to inform key decisions (e.g., program prioritization, resource allocation)
  • Develop materials for internal and external stakeholders, including board decks and investor updates
  • Support investment and diligence activities, including financial modeling and scenario analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in FP&A, preferably with experience in both, a lean biotech environment and in established pharmaceutical companies
  • Familiarity with drug development process and timelines
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
