Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models for portfolio companies and internal operations
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and variance analysis
- Develop long-range strategic planning processes
- Track and analyze actuals vs. budget; identify key drivers and variances
- Affirm cash planning, runway analysis, and capital allocation decisions
- Operational Finance: Improve and streamline financial reporting processes and tools
- Support implementation and maintenance of financial systems and dashboards
- Afford ad hoc financial and operational analyses as needed
- Strategic Planning Support: Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives and business planning
- Build models and analyses to inform key decisions (e.g., program prioritization, resource allocation)
- Develop materials for internal and external stakeholders, including board decks and investor updates
- Support investment and diligence activities, including financial modeling and scenario analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in FP&A, preferably with experience in both, a lean biotech environment and in established pharmaceutical companies
- Familiarity with drug development process and timelines
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
