Senior Director, Brand & Consumer Engagement
About the role
Thrive Causemetics is a female-owned beauty brand that creates high-performance vegan cosmetics and supports a community of giving. This role is ideal for a brand leader who is both visionary and hands-on, with a deep understanding of storytelling, media, and community building in the beauty space.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the brand marketing strategy and calendar, ensuring alignment with product launches, key retail moments, and the Bigger Than Beauty™ mission.
- Own the 360° brand campaign architecture—including messaging frameworks, go-to-market storytelling, and channel planning—to drive consistency and breakthrough visibility.
- Develop creative briefs and partner with Creative and Product teams to deliver culturally relevant, mission-aligned campaign work.
- Lead the strategic development and execution of brand marketing initiatives that support Thrive Causemetics’ retail expansion, including in-store campaigns, retail media, co-branded launches, and omnichannel messaging.
- Seamlessly support and collaborate across functions, from Product and Creative to Growth & Performance, ensuring brand strategy is integrated and additive across the full marketing ecosystem.
- Oversee the integrated consumer engagement strategy, including: PR: Build and manage press relationships, lead brand storytelling efforts, and secure high-impact coverage in beauty, lifestyle, and purpose-driven media outlets. Organic Social: Guide content strategy, tone, and platform innovation across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels; ensure authentic engagement and community responsiveness. Influencer Marketing: Own influencer and brand ambassador programs end-to-end, including casting, content strategy, activations, and performance tracking. Drive brand buzz through earned media, social conversation, and influencer amplification—with a keen eye on cultural trends and community moments.
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to awareness, engagement, reach, sentiment, and brand share of voice. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking and reporting on business-impact metrics, including revenue contribution, marketing efficiency (e.g., CAC, ROAS on brand investments), and overall marketing ROI.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in brand marketing or communications, including PR, influencer, and social media strategy; beauty industry experience preferred.
Proven success building household-name brands and leading breakthrough storytelling across paid, earned, and owned channels.
Demonstrated ability to connect brand strategy to business outcomes. You can point to campaigns and programs that moved the needle on revenue, not just awareness.
Experience leading brand and shopper marketing strategy in a retail environment, ideally in beauty, with a proven ability to build awareness and drive conversion in-store.
Deep relationships with media and influencer communities, and fluency in evolving digital platforms.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire teams and build alignment across departments.
Equally strong in both analytical/logical thinking and creative/intuitive thinking. You're as comfortable in a data dashboard as you are in a creative brainstorm.
You understand that likes and impressions are inputs, not endpoints.
Passionate about Thrive Causemetics’ mission and our commitment to purpose-driven beauty.
