You will oversee the analytics strategy and data-driven insights, playing a critical role in shaping data-informed strategic frameworks—from alignment on client objectives to test design, measurable outcomes, and attribution methodologies that build a business case through results and ROI. This position supervises a team of analysts, works closely with cross-functional agency leadership, and interfaces directly with senior clients at Exxon.

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Analytics & Optimization: Generate actionable observations and insights around campaign results to optimize paid media (programmatic, social, search), CRM, and omni-channel performance marketing.
  • Methodology & Frameworks: Design and recommend appropriate analytic methodology and test/learn frameworks. Develop phased, evolutionary roadmaps to progress the client's analytical sophistication over time.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work seamlessly with Strategy, Experience Planning, Project Management, and Creative teams to bring data-driven ideas to life and inform component optimization (creative, format, value proposition, target, message).
  • Team Management: Attract, nurture, and retain top talent. Provide managerial leadership to analysts and data strategists, overseeing staff development plans, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Agency Growth & Thought Leadership: Author SOWs, scope documentation, and resource estimates. Codify best practices, share methods, and participate in new business pitches. Author POVs on recent trends in marketing analytics, data privacy, and data science.
  • Center of Excellence Activation: Activate the Marketing Sciences COE to design and develop predictive analytic solutions, machine learning, and AI applications as required.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of marketing analytics, technology, or data science experience.
  • Domain Expertise: Extensive working background in digital analytics, direct marketing principles, and database marketing structure.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of digital measurement technologies (tagging, web services, digital tools, etc.), statistical analysis, marketing mathematical rigor, and ROI analysis.
  • Project Leadership: Experience authoring scope documents (SOWs, hours estimates, BRDs) and milestone roadmaps.
  • Communication: Proven analytical skills including the interpretation of data and translation into actionable insights. Superb presentation and storytelling skills to inspire confidence in senior clients.
  • Management: Strong management skills and a proven track record of talent development and resolving personnel matters.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Tagging & Tracking: Experience utilizing tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, Ensighten) and enterprise taxonomy management tools.
  • Advanced Analytics: Experience with scripting/querying (SQL, Python, etc.) and an understanding of Machine Learning/AI applications (e.g., Profile-based segmentation, LTV, Propensity modeling, Media Mix Modeling).
