Responsibilities
- Ensures highly reliable, safe pharmacy operations at all UR Medicine outpatient pharmacies.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations, accreditation standards, and third-party payer requirements.
- Reviews and manages all safety concerns identified relative to outpatient pharmacy services using a just culture approach.
- Promotes and rewards a culture of high quality and courteous care that is aimed at maximizing the patient experience.
- Identifies the needs within the UR Medicine system for expansion and improvement of outpatient pharmacy services.
- Coordinates the development and directs the implementation of new programs and services.
- Works collaboratively with the Director, 340B and Strategic Planning.
- Takes ownership for strategic directions and objectives as assigned for the growth and development of all Ambulatory Pharmacy Services systemwide.
- Responsible for recruitment and retention of staff for outpatient pharmacy programs, including interview, hiring, training, and supervision processes.
- Provides opportunities for the continuing education and development of professional and technical staff.
- Manages budget performance for all Ambulatory Pharmacy operations.
- Participates in strategic planning and project management/implementation relative to integration or centralization of services.
- Maintains relationships with Total Rewards and pharmacy benefit manager responsible for employee benefits.
Qualifications
- Performing a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required.
- A Master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Three years of experience in pharmacy management required.
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in New York State upon hire required.
