Senior Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services

Responsibilities

• Ensures highly reliable, safe pharmacy operations at all UR Medicine outpatient pharmacies.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations, accreditation standards, and third-party payer requirements.
• Reviews and manages all safety concerns identified relative to outpatient pharmacy services using a just culture approach.
• Promotes and rewards a culture of high quality and courteous care that is aimed at maximizing the patient experience.
• Identifies the needs within the UR Medicine system for expansion and improvement of outpatient pharmacy services.
• Coordinates the development and directs the implementation of new programs and services.
• Works collaboratively with the Director, 340B and Strategic Planning.
• Takes ownership for strategic directions and objectives as assigned for the growth and development of all Ambulatory Pharmacy Services systemwide.
• Responsible for recruitment and retention of staff for outpatient pharmacy programs, including interview, hiring, training, and supervision processes.
• Provides opportunities for the continuing education and development of professional and technical staff.
• Manages budget performance for all Ambulatory Pharmacy operations.
• Participates in strategic planning and project management/implementation relative to integration or centralization of services.
• Maintains relationships with Total Rewards and pharmacy benefit manager responsible for employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Performing a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required.
• A Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Three years of experience in pharmacy management required.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in New York State upon hire required.
