Job Summary
About the Role
The Senior Diesel Technician at Vulcan Materials Company is responsible for the repair and maintenance of diesel equipment used in aggregate production. This includes engines, hydraulics, electronics, Tier 4 Systems, and fuel systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related equipment, including air systems, oil analysis, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics, including testing and rebuilding hydraulic equipment, disassembling and assembling wheel loader axles, and removing/installing pressure sensors on EUI Engines.
- Test and repair Common Rail Fuel Systems, remove and install high-pressure fuel pumps, and perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filter replacements.
- Inspect diesel equipment and related equipment for safety and compliance issues, and follow all safety procedures and regulations.
- Mentor entry-level employees for Diesel positions and keep up-to-date on the latest diesel equipment technology.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5 years previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment.
- Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is preferred.
- Experience with Vulcan's equipment management software and understanding of basic electrical, powertrain, and hydraulic knowledge.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
- Valid driver's license meeting all Federal and State regulations.

- Advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform diagnostic tests with manufacturer software.

Benefits
Salary Range: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour. Includes a discretionary bonus and equity package based on performance.
