Senior Diesel Technician- 2nd Shift (Houston, TX)

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Fleet Technician to maintain our commitment to safety and customer service. In this role, you will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles, and collaborate with team members to meet company goals.

Schedule

Monday - Friday: shift starts at 2:00 pm, with rotational Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
• Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation, and oil changes
• Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
• Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
• Repairs, modifies, and performs preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles
• Completes all required preventive maintenance requirements to ensure operational equipment
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions
• Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure DOT compliance, including brake maintenance
• Completes all required daily reporting
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT, and OSHA regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance
• Welding and body fabrication experience is a plus
• Ability to read and comprehend technical reference materials (equipment and repair manuals)
• Experience with applicable Microsoft and diagnostic applications
• Strong attention to detail
• Prompt, professional, and dependable demeanor
