Senior DevSecOps Architect/Engineer

Job Summary

GCyber is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Architect/Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for a critical program supporting the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Software Yard – ASE – Architecture and Modeling Branch.

About the Role

The DevSecOps Architect will be responsible for establishing, sustaining, and automating the foundational technical baseline and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) domain architectures throughout the solution lifecycle. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing the architectural context that guides all software development, delivery, and sustainment activities, ensuring all platforms and applications are built on a consistent, secure, and automated foundation.

Location

This position is located in Kearneysville, WV, and will be a hybrid position (2-3 days/week onsite).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated provisioning pipelines built on secure architecture models.
• Construct and maintain actionable MBSE domain architectures and integrated digital models to establish a definitive technical baseline.
• Integrate Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity requirements directly into the foundational design of all platform and domain architectures.
• Formalize technical standards and interoperability standards, ensuring full synchronization with overarching PEO C5I enterprise strategies and policies.
• Provide architectural guidance and reference models to development, integration, and product teams to ensure engineering remains traceable.
• Map and document complex service capabilities, architectural dependencies, and automated workflows across multiple technology domains.
• Drive the continuous evolution of the Software Yard's baseline by monitoring, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies.
• Ensure compliance with federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs through automated security gating and vulnerability remediation.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security)
• 10+ years of experience, prior experience supporting USCG of DHS preferred
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure DevSecOps pipelines and automated software delivery frameworks.
• Proven experience creating and maintaining MBSE domain architectures, integrated digital models, or enterprise-level architecture blueprints.
• Comprehensive operational understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and integrating cybersecurity controls into foundational designs.
• Strong experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical standards, and software traceability practices across automated lifecycles.
• Proficiency in automating infrastructure, configuration management, and deployment gating within complex, multi-domain environments.
• Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise virtualization, software engineering, cloud architecture, and network boundaries.
