Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Weeghman & Briggs is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support critical government initiatives in Annapolis Junction, MD. This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimization and automation across multiple platforms and applications.
• Drive consistency for deployment and build processes.
• Utilize modern tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Ansible, Terraform, Python, Linux, and much more.
• Work with teams on large and demonstrable projects, preferably built on AWS and familiar with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python.
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand and apply Agile software development and DevOps practices.
• Translate customer needs into functional, production-ready code and infrastructure.
• Work with AWS (S3, VPCs & Networking, EC2, ECS/EKS).
• Work with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with IaC (Terraform/Cloud Formation).
• Work with CI/CD (Jenkins/ GitHub Actions).
• Be self-driven, self-learner, willing to share knowledge, and participate actively in a team environment.
• Hold CWIP IAT Level I certification.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience supporting government or DoD programs.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications (Security+, CISSP, PMP, AWS, etc.), experience supporting government agencies, Agile, cloud, or modernization experience, and background in process improvement or analytical services.

Pay

The projected salary range for this position is $187K - $261K, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and contract requirements.

This is a full-time position based in Annapolis Junction, MD.
