Senior DevOps Engineer
About the role
The DevOps team at Envestnet is a vibrant, cross-functional group dedicated to streamlining and automating the software delivery lifecycle. You’ll be joining a collaborative environment where engineers work closely with development, security, SRE, and operations teams across various geographies, all united in optimizing the deployment of applications and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provision users, roles, projects, and permissions; build tools and automation for GitLab.
- Design and implement delivery pipelines for applications and infrastructure; integrate quality, security, and process gates to identify issues early.
- Develop and maintain Terraform components for AWS.
- Deploy and maintain applications in AWS EKS using ArgoCD and Istio; ensure scalability, reliability, and security; build reusable Kubernetes resources with Helm.
- Collaborate with security and audit teams to integrate vulnerability scans and process checks into CI/CD pipelines; participate in quarterly audits and automate evidence collection for auditors.
- Work closely with development, security, SRE, and operations teams across multiple geographies.
- Build tools to enhance DevOps efficiency and increase pipeline velocity.
- Adhere to and apply Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Python, Shell Scripts, Terraform, Helm
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Istio, ArgoCD
- Familiarity with GitLab, GitLab APIs, GitLab CI/CD
- Nice-to-haves: Experience with Open Policy Agent, Rego, Microsoft Azure; Knowledge of MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST APIs, and authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth)
Skills
- Understanding and support for Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk
