Senior Developer – Java / DB2 | Remote | Contract

Remote contract opportunity supporting the enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of a large-scale enterprise web application.

About the role

We are hiring a Senior Developer to work on a mission-critical system built with Java and DB2.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features for a high-volume web application
• Maintain and refactor existing Java and DB2 code to improve performance, security, and maintainability
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience
• 3+ years of hands-on DB2 database experience (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
• Experience with enterprise web applications and large-scale systems
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
• Familiarity with modern development tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
