Senior Developer (J2EE)

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Developer to support further development, enhancement, and improvement to the eXPRS application. Pay: $60-65 per hour.

About the Role

Contractor’s Key Person under this Work Order will support the Operations and Maintenance of the ODHS/ODDS eXPRS application by addressing backlog items, including bug remediation, operational requests, enhancements, performance improvements, refactoring, UI improvements, and data/reporting requests. The role involves transitioning concepts and enhancements to the existing team for ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver updates to the eXPRS application, including software code changes and documentation.
• Document completed enhancements to ensure complete system documentation for the eXPRS application.
• Complete defect and change requests for code modifications impacting the eXPRS application.
• Engage in discussions with system and business experts and attend daily Scrum meetings.
• Collaborate with the ODHS business product owner to understand functional business requirements and timelines.
• Document solution options, impacted system areas, dependencies, and gaps in system capabilities.
• Work with the ODHS project technical architect to understand technical standards and document technical designs.
• Review level of effort and timelines with the OIS technical manager and technical lead.
• Provide full transparency into work performed and deliverables, including sprint reports.
• Follow Authorized Purchaser’s existing processes for requirements management, design, development, and issue tracking using Azure DevOps (ADOS) and Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Participate in daily and weekly sprint planning and review meetings with the eXPRS teams.
• Advise on incremental definition and delivery of eXPRS application requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of requirements using functional prototypes and document stakeholder feedback.

Deliverables

• Regular status reporting of sprints (2-week cadence).
• Demonstration of working prototypes every 1 to 2 weeks.
• Technical specifications for each deliverable, including database changes, interface programs, batch programs, application modules, and use cases.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with J2EE, Java, Eclipse, and IBM DB2 UDB.
• 1+ years of experience with eXPRS Application Development.
• Prior state government experience within the last five years.

Pay

$60-65 per hour.

Schedule

Work will follow an Agile approach with 2-week sprints. The schedule is dependent on business and project needs.
