Key job responsibilities
- Design and execute across AWS global events — concepting, developing, and producing environmental design, signage systems, wayfinding, stage scenic, branded installations, and immersive activations
- Develop scalable design frameworks that flex across event types and sizes — from a 60,000-person conference to a 200-person executive dinner
- Translate brand strategy into three-dimensional, multi-sensory experiences that create lasting impressions and reinforce AWS's position as the industry leader
- Ensure consistency and quality across all event surfaces — digital signage, printed collateral, environmental creative, badges, swag, and interactive installations
- Partner with technology teams to integrate digital and interactive elements into physical spaces thoughtfully
- Work as a trusted creative partner to the Creative Director of Global Events, event producers, program managers, internal stakeholders, agencies, and vendors — bringing strategic design thinking to operational planning conversations
- Participate actively in creative reviews, offering constructive feedback that elevates the work across the team
- Collaborate with the broader Brand & Creative team on projects outside of events — campaigns, brand systems, digital experiences — contributing your perspective and growing your range
- Raise the bar within production realities — finding innovative solutions that surprise and delight without compromising feasibility or timeline
- Document and share best practices, templates, and learnings that help the broader team execute events at a higher standard over time
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- 8+ years of professional design experience, with at least 3 years focused on experiential design, events, or environmental graphics
- Demonstrated experience designing for large-scale events or branded environments at technology companies
- Deep expertise in signage systems, wayfinding design, and environmental graphics — from concept through production
- Production fluency — understanding of materials, fabrication methods, digital signage specifications, print production, and vendor workflows
- Proficiency in design tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools (SketchUp, Cinema 4D, or similar)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — ability to articulate design rationale to creative, operational, and executive audiences
