Base pay starts at $16.78 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

About the role

Floor & Decor Senior Designers lead the design team and provide a seamless, consultative design service from start to finish, building lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. In this role, you will meet with customers, understand their project needs, educate them on project requirements, and create design concepts that reflect their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Requirements

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design), or 6 years of interior design experience in lieu of education, or a combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support walk-in design needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, develop clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads
• Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication
• Use company communication tools and emails proficiently and consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices
• Stay updated on current and emerging design trends in your market
• Use design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject
• Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Moderate to noisy work environment

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or negligible to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Store Hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pickup Hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
